Products Description
How Does an Air Density Separator Work?
A combined air separator, also known as a drum air density separator, consists of a centrifugal fan, a rotating drum separation unit, a belt conveyor, and a connected settling chamber. Based on aerodynamic principles, the air separator uses a controlled airflow as the separation medium. Under the influence of this controlled airflow, materials are separated according to density and particle size. Applications in Turnkey Municipal Solid Waste Sorting Plant, Turnkey C&D Waste Sorting Plant, and mixed waste projects.
Working Principle:
The waste air separator uses aerodynamic principles to blow and winnow waste
- Separating light and heavy waste materials, such as paper, plastic bags, plastic films, textiles, etc.
- Light waste materials are discharged from the side outlet.
- Heavy wastes (such as glass, metal, wood, stone) come out of the outlet below.
- The air volume and wind pressure of the waste air separator machine are adjustable.
- Robust design capable of handling corrosive materials, leachate, and oils.

Key Technical Specifications & Parameters

Why Choose Guoxin Air Separators?
1. Fully sealed negative pressure sorting, no dust leakage. Complies with strict environmental dust emission standards.
2. High sorting accuracy, high efficiency, and large throughput
3. User-friendly stepless wind speed adjustment to meet the needs of materials with different properties
4. Optional dual-drum separation, capable of separating light, medium, and heavy components
5. PLC integrated electrical and mechanical control. The control system uses a SIEMENS PLC as the main control station. It adopts a modular design, allowing for wide-ranging combinations of individual modules to control different systems.
6. It can be integrated with existing waste treatment production lines (with the next step to connect to a manual sorting platform) and can be customized according to the customer’s material type and separation requirements.
7. long service life, requires almost no maintenance, and saves time and operating costs.
FAQ:
Q1: What types of materials can be effectively separated by an air density separator?
A: Our air density separator is designed to process various solid wastes, including Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) and Construction and Demolition (C&D) waste. It effectively separates light materials such as plastic films, paper, textiles, and foam from heavy materials like glass, metals, stones, and wood.
Q2: How does the machine handle materials with different moisture levels or densities?
A: The equipment features a stepless wind speed adjustment system and adjustable air volume. Operators can precisely control the aerodynamic force based on the specific gravity and moisture content of the input material, ensuring high sorting accuracy across diverse waste streams.
Q3: Is the air separation process environmentally friendly and dust-free?
A: Yes. The system operates under fully sealed negative pressure, which prevents dust leakage during the sorting process. It can also be integrated with a pulse dust collection system to meet strict environmental protection standards and ensure a clean working environment.
Q4: Can this air separator be integrated into an existing waste recycling line?
A: Absolutely. Our air density separators feature a modular design and PLC-integrated control (SIEMENS). They are highly compatible and can be easily integrated with existing equipment like trommel screens, crushers, or manual sorting platforms to automate and optimize your recycling workflow.
