Project Overview
In July 2026, Guoxin Group completed the installation and trial commissioning of a modular Construction and Demolition (C&D) waste sorting plant in Hainan Province, China.
The processing facility is designed to handle unsegregated urban demolition waste, which typically consists of heavy concrete blocks, red bricks, loose topsoil, timber scraps, and plastic packaging. Given the high humidity and variable soil moisture in regional coastal environments, the site required a sorting configuration that prevents screen blinding while isolating clean aggregates and fine soil fractions.
Technical Process Flow & On-Site Configuration

The plant architecture follows a sequential mechanical separation process engineered to minimize labor costs while maximizing downstream material purity:

Stage 1: Feed Material Handling & Primary Screening
-
Excavator Loading: Raw, unsegregated demolition waste is directly loaded via heavy excavator into the primary feeding hopper.
-
Multi-Shaft Disc Screening (Fine Isolation): The feedstock passes directly over a high-torque multi-shaft disc screen (butterfly screen). The dynamic rotating discs continuously agitate and bounce heavy concrete and brick debris forward while screening out fine dirt, sand, and organic soil through the disc gaps.
-
Anti-Clogging Performance: Unlike traditional wire-mesh screens, the rotating disc profile prevents moist soil from compacting and clogging the screening bed, ensuring continuous operation.
Stage 2: Elevated Manual Quality Control & Commodity Isolation
-
Spreading Belt Conveyor: The oversize fraction (>30mm/50mm) discharged from the disc screen is elevated onto a flat sorting conveyor belt. The uniform material depth allows operators to easily identify and isolate contaminants.
-
Manual Recovery Station: Operators positioned along the enclosed elevated platform manually pick out light organics (wood chips, textiles, plastic films) and oversize uncrushable debris, dropping them into dedicated collection chutes below.
-
Aggregate Discharge: Cleaned concrete blocks and red bricks pass off the end of the sorting conveyor, forming consolidated stockpiles ready for secondary crushing or road sub-base recycling.

Field Operational Observations
During initial material trial runs in Hainan, the multi-shaft disc screening mechanism demonstrated high operational efficiency on damp, heavy input streams:
-
Immediate Soil Separation: Fine soil and crushed mortar fractions are removed at the front end, preventing sand from entering downstream crushing equipment and significantly reducing abrasive mechanical wear.
-
Controlled Layer Thickness: The disc action flattens the material layer as it moves toward the manual picking station, increasing operator visibility and picking efficiency for light contaminants.
-
Modular Footprint: The entire screening and conveyor matrix is installed on a simplified ground-level foundation, allowing straightforward reconfiguration or relocation for temporary demolition contracts.
