Project Overview

200 TPD MSW Sorting Plant in Rayong, Thailand

200 TPD MSW sorting plant equipment installed in Thailand
-
Location: Rayong, Thailand (Eastern Economic Corridor – EEC)
-
Feedstock: Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) with high organic & plastic content
-
Capacity: 200 Tons Per Day (TPD)
-
Core Objective: Diverting waste from landfills and producing high-quality RDF-3 for local cement kilns.
Project Background: Adapting to Thai Waste Management Policies
Thailand is aggressively transitioning towards a circular economy under the BCG model. In regions such as Rayong and Chonburi, local municipalities face shrinking landfill capacity and rising disposal taxes. Our Thai client required a robust MSW sorting system capable of handling “wet waste” (high moisture organic fractions) while maximizing the recovery of combustibles for Alternative Fuel (RDF) production.
Technical Process & Equipment Configuration
To ensure high purity in material separation, we deployed a multi-stage mechanical sorting line:
-
Automatic Feeding & Bag Opening: High-torque hydraulic bag openers handle bundled domestic waste.
-
Trommel Screening (Size Separation): Separates organic fines (<80mm) from large inorganic fractions.
-
Air Classification (Density Sorting): Removes inert heavy materials (stones, glass) to purify the light combustible fraction.
-
Magnetic & Eddy Current Separation: High-intensity recovery of ferrous and non-ferrous metals (Aluminium cans).
-
RDF Secondary Shredding: Our signature RDF fine shredder reduces plastics/textiles to <50mm for cement plant specifications.
Project Benefits & Performance Data
Since commissioning, the Rayong facility has demonstrated industry-leading recovery rates:
-
Landfill Diversion Rate: 85%+ reduction in volume.
-
RDF-3 Production: ~60-70 tons/day of high-calorific alternative fuel.
-
Recyclable Recovery: 5-8 tons/day of mixed plastics (PET/PE) and metals.
-
Environmental Compliance: Equipped with advanced dust extraction and deodorization systems to meet Thai PCD (Pollution Control Department) standards.
Cost-Benefit Analysis & ROI
For the Southeast Asian market, we focus on balancing automation with local labor costs to optimize the Payback Period.
| Financial Metric | Estimated Data (USD) |
| Total Capital Investment | $450,000 – $750,000 (Based on automation level) |
| Annual Revenue (RDF + Recyclables) | $280,000 – $400,000 |
| Operational Savings (Landfill Fees) | $120,000 – $180,000 |
| Estimated ROI Period | 18 – 24 Months |
Note: Payback is accelerated by Thailand’s “Feed-in Tariff” (FiT) for WTE projects and carbon credit eligibility.
Client Feedback
“Guoxin Machinery provided more than just equipment; they provided a design tailored to the high moisture levels of Thai MSW. The RDF quality consistently meets our local cement factory’s requirements, turning our waste liability into a profitable asset.” —— Project Manager, Rayong Waste Solutions
